Carol Stitzer  is a ceramic and collage artist with experience in painting and photography.  All of these disciplines have converged to help strengthen and develop her current work. Her ceramics and collage intersect and compliment each other. The collage compositions influence her ceramics, which she calls “collage in clay”....a variety of unique items "cut out" of clay and affixed to forms and figures she has hand built.  Her ceramic pieces provide ideas and a sense of play that appear in all of her collages.

She has lived in the Chicago area for the majority of her life and now resides downtown. Although her academic training was in primary education, her collage and ceramic studies have been at Lillstreet Art Center. She has currently combined her academic and art studies and begun to use them as an instructor for the Kidstreet programs and Summer Camps at Lillstreet Art Center.
